Playing Lessons on the Golf Course

I have found that when starting a new teenage junior golfer,

  • that after orienting them to the basic rules of golf
  • the swing basics of chipping, putting, tee shots and sand shots

It is best to NOT to play a full round of golf with them individually. Just be “present” with them to encourage them. THEY ARE GOING TO NEED IT!! And it does take pretty much unbroken focus on your part as an instructor and coach to play your own game and that is NOT why you are there. You are there for your aspiring students.
It takes much time and focus to orient them to etiquette and pace of play along with various strategies and of course reminding them that it is a “game” to be played and enjoyed.
